The Blind Side Rating: Active Eruption
If this doesn't land Sandra Bullock an Oscar nom, I don't know what will! What a phenomenal acting job, portraying real-life Leigh Ann Tuouy, a Memphis decorator who takes in an abandoned black teenager and helps him become a football star. This is the first movie I've seen this "awards" season, so the bar is set pretty high. Not only is this a "feel-good" film about family values, but it teaches us many lessons about human compassion - very timely in this holiday season. And with the recession still roaring along, we all needed a movie to give us some hope, even if achieved vicariously through this young teenager. Definitely do not miss this film!
