Juno Rating: Active Eruption
For a teen coming of age movie, this one is exceptional. This is some of the best dialogue ever in a movie; kudos to screenwriter Diablo Cody, who should get an Oscar nod for this one. Also notable is the performance of Ellen Page as Juno, the quirky teenager who decides to put her baby up for adoption to an upscale couple she meets through a Pennysaver ad. Set in Minnesota, the film captures contemporary high school life and explores the often tenuous relationship between parents and children, husbands and wives, and girlfriends and boyfriends. Juno is a movie for all age groups, and it will make you laugh and maybe also make you cry.
