An addictive suspense novel set in the post-9/11 world, with a touch of humor (yes, really, humor!) Detective John Corey and his FBI agent wife Kate Mayfield set out to find coworker Harry Muller who has disappeared at a secretive men's lodge in the Adirondacks: the Custer Hill Club, owned by ex-military oil baron Bain Madox. John and Kate suspect Bain and his goons are the murderers, but the odds are stacked against the pair even gaining access to gather evidence, let alone proving their case. In the process of doing the investigation, John and Kate discover the sinister plot that Bain has implemented, so time is of the essence to stop him. All the while, John and Kate's boss has recalled them to the office to let the FBI and locals handle it, but John takes Harry's death personally and is determined to find the killers and take revenge. As a result, John and Kate find themselves on the run to avoid the FBI finding them. Those evasive actions and the overall dialogue between John and all the other characters will have you cracking up - it is downright hilarious. Suspense with humor: an unbeatable combination! Can't wait to read Nelson's next book...
