Simple Genius has it all: the intrigue of a secret government agencies, a few murders and missing persons, an ancient wartime code that holds the clues, and the sleuthing expertise of ex-secret service agents Michelle and Sean (back from Baldacci's earlier books). It all takes place in coastal Virginia, where Sean is assigned to investigate the first murder while Michelle is under psychiatric treatment for an unexplained attack she delivered to another bar patron. Michelle is released in short order to join her partner Sean to help find the clues that only the murder victim's young autistic daughter understands but can't communicate. And I have to end there, because I don't want to expose any more of this exciting page-turner...you'll just have to go get this book to find out how everything turns out.
