What a delightful, funny book! It's like Forrest Gump narrated in "country-speak". From the first page, you'll find yourself immersed in this charming dialect, learning about the book's main character, Juggin Joe Jeckel. From the time Joe is a young boy and learns how to make wonderful music from a jug, you'll want to follow him everywhere as he pines for his forbidden love, Florentine (the preacher's daughter), to being 'discovered' by a famous musician and then launched into his own stellar music career, to Army Private Joe helping President Reagan tear down the Berlin wall.
You won't be able to put this book down once you start it, so be prepared. Put your feet up, relax, and enjoy Joseph Yakel's marvelous wit and 'down-home' humble writing style. I'm hoping for an audio version and the movie!
