Laurie Larsen weaves together a roller coaster family drama about adoption, guilt, and the search for the truth. Former teen mother Penelope Livingston embarks upon a search to find the daughter she put up for adoption twenty-five years before. After contacting several candidates from government records, Penelope finds two possibilities, but which woman is her daughter? Each chapter introduces a new twist in Penelope's search, along with some new lies created by the adopted daughter's birth father to cover up the truth. This is a suspense-filled page-turner that reveals the spectrum of human emotions at work among the daughters, mothers, fathers, husbands and wives within this cross-section of families linked together by the birth of one baby girl so long ago.
