What a treat to read this psychic thriller. Mr. Spina appears to have created a whole new genre. Just as the reader gets to know the central characters, they enter and leave the psychic realm to communicate with each other, adding to the suspense.
The story is contemporary, focusing on young entrepreneur Alec Thorn who is trying to get his company off the ground. His attorney is killed just as he is about to get his technology fully licensed, causing Alec great distress and delays. But that’s just the beginning of Alec’s journey, as several professional terrorists come together in an effort to destroy him to settle a score, from a past life.
Alec is suddenly trying to just stay alive, let alone think about his business. He encounters some positive spirits along the way, including an intuitive named Sophie who gives him messages from the alternative reality and guides him along. Alec learns how to develop and fine-tune his own psychic ability, to the point where he is able to intercept other-world communications among his killers. This is a nail-biter to the end. Even if you don't believe in psychic powers and other worlds, by the end of this book you will seriously be reconsidering the possibility.
